Soft Apocalypse: Redeemed from Time

The protagonists in Redeemed from Time are teenagers but this does not mean this is book aimed solely at young adults. Set about seventy years in the future, it asks the question, “if it’s like that then, what is it now that takes us there?”

Redeemed from Time is not science fiction; nor is it dystopian. The Britain we see is a believable projection of the present. The imagined future can be an interesting lense through which we can view ourselves. What holds society together? What motivates individuals?

On one level, Redeemed from Time is a story about family bonds. Pee-Bee has to address serious tensions within his own family. On another level, the book explores the past, our memories and how we are shaped by what has gone before.

The story roams from the edgy suburbs of south London to rural south-west France. It is here, in the Institute of Gerontology that cutting edge research into the harvesting of memories is taking place. Personal ethics confront the morality of multi-national companies.

Redeemed from Time is the first book in the Soft Apocalypse trilogy. Its sequel, The Net, is scheduled for publication in 2026.
